UNLV Enrollment Checklist

Student Portal & Email

Activate MyUNLV and Rebelmail.

MyUNLV is UNLV’s student portal system for students who have applied, been admitted or are taking classes. On MyUNLV, students are able to access their student record, search and enroll for courses, and pay tuition.

New students are automatically granted access to MyUNLV upon submission of an application for UNLV admissions. Login information will be sent to the email address provided in the application. Students will receive an ID number from the Nevada System of Higher Education as their username.

In addition, students will receive a UNLV email address that must be activated via Rebelmail.

Rebelmail is UNLV’s official means of communication with students, faculty and staff. Activate your rebelmail account as soon as possible to avoid missing out on important information about deadlines, major campus events, and announcements.

For assistance with student accounts, contact the UNLV IT Help Desk online or at 702-895-0777.

Financial Aid

Review financial aid and complete verification process, if necessary.

Financial Aid – Once accepted to UNLV, students are able to view their financial aid options on MyUNLV where they also accept/decline their awards. In addition, students are able to view their account balance for any out-of-pocket expenses.

DACA/Immigrant students will need to complete an Alternate Need form for financial aid options.

Acknowledgement of the Millennium Scholarship – Students are initially notified of their eligibility for the Millennium Scholarship program in early August following high school graduation. Qualifying students will receive an award letter from the State Treasurer’s Office describing the terms and conditions of the scholarship program. To receive funding, students are required to complete the Acknowledgement of Award process online.

Financial Aid Verification – The financial aid verification process is required by the U.S. Department of Education. Institutions are required to collect and maintain specific documentation on selected FAFSA records before disbursing federal funds.

Approximately 30% of students who submit a FAFSA will be federally selected for verification. Students who are selected for verification must submit the requested documents in order to receive their financial aid.

If you are selected for verification, you will be notified in one of two ways:

· The United States Department of Education will notify you immediately after completing the FAFSA through a note on your Student Aid Report.

· UNLV will inform you through the “to do” list on MyUNLV. In addition, email communication will be sent to the email address listed on MyUNLV.

If selected for verification, visit the UNLV Student Self Service Center for more information.

Documentation

Follow up with important documentation including official high school transcript, ACT/SAT test scores, and immunization records.

Summer Bridge or Early Start Program

Get a head start by participating in a Summer Bridge or Early Start Program.

Summer Math Bridge – A free online program designed to help students who are placed into preparatory math classes (Math 95/Math 96) or gateway math classes (Math 120/124/126) but require a different 100-level math course for their desired major.

First-Gen Connect introduces programs and student success strategies that can contribute to their success at UNLV (i.e. the Academic Success Center, the Writing Center, time management skills, etc.).

Transportation & Parking

How will you get to campus?

Plan your transportation (i.e. how you will get to campus). If you will be driving a car and parking on campus, you will need to purchase a parking pass.

Visit UNLV’s Parking & Transportation Services website for more information.

Important Dates & Tuition Payment Deadline

Identify important dates including the tuition payment deadline.

Access the 2022-2023 Academic Calendar to view important dates such as registration dates, add/drop deadlines, holidays, etc.

If your financial aid is still pending and you have an outstanding balance on the day of the tuition payment deadline, it is suggested that you sign up for a payment plan to avoid being dropped from classes.

A payment plan breaks down your balance into monthly payments. Use the Interest-Free Monthly Payment Plan available via MyUNLV. The payment option is available for a small non-refundable fee of $45 per semester. You can access your payment plan online, 24 hours a day through MyUNLV.

Visit UNLV’s Cashiering & Student Accounts website for more information including instructions on how to enroll in a payment plan.

The administrative drop date for non-payment is September 6, 2022.
