Susy Ruiz, Program Manager

Ms. Susy Ruiz is an accomplished leader in the college counseling field committed to assisting first-generation, traditional, and transfer students and their families in achieving their college aspirations. With over twelve years of experience in college admissions, higher education, scholarships, and educational background, Ms. Ruiz brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her work.

Prior to joining the Fulfillment Fund in 2013, Ms. Ruiz served the Los Angeles area by providing mentoring, tutoring, residential advising, and student personnel advisor services to high school students. She has also traveled extensively, visiting over 60 colleges across the United States.

During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Ruiz worked in academic boot camps for first-generation and low-income students at the TRiO University of Southern California every summer. She holds a Bachelor’s in Anthropology from USC, a Master of Social Work from Arizona State University, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership.

In 2019, Ms. Ruiz served on the leadership team at Global Community High School for four years, working with newcomer and refugee families in the Clark County School District. She has returned to the Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas because of her strong sense of purpose in serving students and families in the college access field. As the Program Manager for the Fulfillment Fundamentals Team, Ms. Ruiz is committed to expanding Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas’s college access services to more students and families in the Clark County School District.

Ms. Ruiz embraces the motto “gratitude is the attitude,” which reflects her positive outlook and appreciation for life. She enjoys following the Chicago Bulls basketball team in her free time: Michael Jordan is her favorite player.  Ms. Ruiz enjoys spending time with her fiancé and her dog, Sparky. She also loves Disney, the Golden Girls, Hip Hop, and the Beatles.
