Markia Jones, College Counselor
Markia Jones was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She graduated as a first-generation student from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Sociology. After graduating, she joined the College Advising Corps in 2018, UT AdviseTx Chapter, where she found her passion for counseling, advocating for, and supporting post-secondary pathways for first-generation black and brown students.
Markia’s work is driven by the personal motto:
