Ruby Ortega, Post-Secondary Manager
Ruby joined the Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas in August of 2016 as the Scholarship Program Manager. As a former College Recruiter at NSC, Ruby understands the importance of going to college and being prepared. Like many of the students that we serve, Ruby was a first-generation student who had to find ways to pay for college expenses while still balancing family and work obligations.
Ruby has also done work around DACA/undocumented college access and presented at the ACT Conference in 2016. With her personal experience and her gained knowledge, Ruby understands the challenges that many first-generation students face when preparing to attend college. As a Scholarship Program Manager, Ruby develops scholarship data, college interventions, scholar events and handles scholarship awards.
Ruby received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Minor in Communications from Nevada State College. and her Master’s degree in Public Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her goal is to continue positively impacting our community and our amazing students.
Everyday, Ruby reminds herself of that Spanish phrase that her father used to say to her while growing up, ‘todo se puede en la vida’ which means, everything is possible in life.
