Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas students continue the tradition of volunteering at Three Square Food Bank during the holiday season.
On Saturday, December 9, a group of Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas (FFLV) students from Chaparral High School and Del Sol Academy spent the morning volunteering at Southern Nevada’s only food bank, Three Square.
The purpose of this community service event is to give students the opportunity to give back and promote personal growth. At the same time, community service aligns with our mission of preparing students for the college admissions process.
Volunteering at Three Square is a student favorite because of the hands-on activities provided to participants. During this visit students helped pack 108 shelf stable boxes for seniors and 525 bags of food for the Salvation Army for insecure families in the community.
Here are what some students had to say about their experience at Three Square:
“My favorite activity during this field trip was working with other people from my community to help a lot more people in need of help and support.” – Angel, junior at Chaparral High School
“I loved how I got to experience what it’s like to pack food, learn about how it gets distributed, and also how many people we are able to help.” – Jamila, senior at Del Sol Academy
“I really enjoyed the whole process of packing and seeing everyone work together.” – Liliana, junior at Chaparral High School
