During the week of spring break, Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas students from Del Sol Academy, Chaparral High School, and Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy attended our annual college tour to learn about the higher education institutions in Southern Utah and Las Vegas.
To kick off spring break, forty-two students set forth on a two-day college tour to Southern Utah on Monday, April 10. Students arrived at Dixie State University (DSU) bright and early for an admissions presentation and a campus tour. During lunch, students ate at the dining commons to experience life as a college student. In addition, students on the tour had the opportunity to speak to current Fulfillment Fund scholars attending DSU.
Following DSU, students spent Monday afternoon exploring Zion National Park which was a new experience for many on the trip.
Before heading back to Las Vegas on Tuesday, April 11, Fulfillment Fund students visited Southern Utah University (SUU) in Cedar City for the very first time. After our campus tour, several students expressed wanting to attend SUU.
On Wednesday, April 12, Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas had the opportunity to visit the local higher education institutions in Las Vegas. Our one-day college tour included College of Southern Nevada, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Nevada State College.
The purpose of these college tours are to give students the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the admissions requirements and college life. We hope this exposure will inspire and motivate students to pursue a higher education.
