For the first time, Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas granted 30 students the opportunity to personally learn more about Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Thanks to a partnership with Stepping in the Right Direction, an organization whose mission is to expose students to HBCUs, these students visited nine different Historically Black Colleges and Universities during spring break.

The Colleges/Universities visited include: Spelman College, Morehouse College, Alabama State University, Tuskegee University, Clark Atlanta University, Jackson State University, Paul Quinn College, Wiley College and Grambling University.

Read about some of the students' experiences on this college tour:

Diamond, sophomore at Chaparral High School "Attending this HBCU college tour was a great pleasure and experience. I will be the first person in my family to attend college. Being able to view the magnificent college campuses we visited gave me hope that I can become the person I strive to be. Thanks to the Spelman campus tour, I am looking forward to applying and attending college there."

Lauren, junior at Del Sol High School "I want to state off by saying how grateful I am. This has truly been an amazing experience for me. As a result of this trip, I see myself applying to Spelman College."

Kris, sophomore at Chaparral High School "This college trip was an amazing experience and I am eternally grateful for being given this opportunity. I loved Jackson State University and Tuskegee University so much that I would like to apply to those schools once I am a senior. This trip has taught me that there are colleges and opportunities everywhere across the nation. I would recommend this trip to all students who are interested in smaller schools with a low student to teacher ratio."

Maria, freshman at Del Sol High School "More than anything, this trip helped me open my mind to the numerous opportunities available when it comes to attending college."

Marcia, junior at Chaparral High School"Going on this HBCU college trip opened my mind to different colleges and studying outside of Nevada. Because of my experience on this trip, I now plan to apply to Alabama State University, Tuskegee University, Jackson State University and Grambling State University."
